The release date of Tom Cruise staring ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ has been pushed to 23 December 2020 due to Coronavirus outbreak. The sequel to Cruise’s 1986 classic was scheduled to release on 24 June 2020. The film joined a long list of movies that were pulled from release because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
HH Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, has announced the disbursement of up to USD 2.39 billion in financial support to more than 1.2 million citizens who are working in private sector companies. The aid, announced on 3 April 2020, will help businesses deal with the economic fallout of Coronavirus outbreak. Saudi Arabia has registered 1,885 cases with 21 deaths as of 2 April 2020.
US Navy has relieved Captain Brett Crozier of the USS Theodore Roosevelt from his services. He wrote a letter to military leadership regarding COVID-19 situation on his carrier. In the letter, Crozier described a worsening Coronavirus outbreak on his warship. More than 100 sailors aboard were confirmed infected. The aircraft carrier is docked in Guam, has sailors quarantined for the next 14 days.
Binance, largest cryptocurrency exchange by market volume has acquired popular data site CoinMarketCap (CMC) for an undisclosed price. CoinMarketCap will continue to be run as an independent business entity. CMC was launched in 2013 and has served as a platform for research and analytical data for users ever since. It is one of the world’s most visited websites for Cryptocurrency.
While Coronavirus outbreak has wreaked havoc in Europe and America, some parts of the world are not much affected by the outbreak. Cases in about 20 countries are still in single digits with Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea reporting only one case each. Malawi and Burundi in Africa have also reported only 3 cases in the country.
