IMF projects India's growth rate at 1.9% for 2020, forecasts global recession

According to the latest projections by International Monetary Fund (IMF), India will grow by 1.9% in 2020 because of COVID-19 but the projection for 2021 is 7.4%. China is expected to grow by 1.2% while most economies are forecast to contract this year, including US (-5.9%), Japan (-5.2 %), UK (-6.5%), Germany (-7.0%), France (-7.2%), Italy (-9.1%), and Spain (-8.0%), the IMF report stated.
