A day after India banned 59 smartphone applications citing privacy and other issues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold the mic, again, to address the nation. His speech also comes hours after the country announced guidelines for its second reopening phase, Unlock 2.0. The Prime Minister is expected to shine a light on either of the matters in his latest address which will be telecasted at 4 pm IST on 30 June 2020.
India’s central government banned 59 Chinese mobile application on 29 June 2020. Popular applications including TikTok, WeChat, Helo, and Shein were claimed to be posing threat to India’s ‘security and sovereignty’. TikTok is a popular short video application that has over 5 billion installs on Google Play Store globally. India is reportedly the biggest market for TikTok. Banned applications include UC Browser, Shareit, Cam Scanner, V Mate, and Clubfactory. The government has given these companies a chance to offer clarifications on their policies and privacy requirements.
Unlock 2.0 is officially the second Coronavirus reopening phase in India. Government released guidelines for Unlock 2.0 include closing down schools, colleges, and other such institutions till 31 July 2020. Domestic flights and railway services will be expanded over the next month. Further, the timings for night curfew in the country was relaxed from 9 pm- 6 am IST to 10 pm to 5 am IST. A lockdown will continue to be implemented in containment zones to contain spread of Coronavirus.

(16:11)- Government will support more than 80 crore poor population for the next five months with ration in form of free Wheat, Rice, Lentils, and other essentials.

(16:09)- Friends, agriculture sector in India is normally busy with work only after monsoons. Other sectors receive normal output and employment during this time.
(16:08)- 80 crore people have been provided with government ration to help them out of the lockdown phase. The number is 2.5 times more than the population of USA.
(16:07)- Government came with Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojna to help the poor and needy. Thousands of crores worth help has been transferred directly into the accounts of women, poor, farmers, and the needy. Various steps have been taken by the government to support economy and its people.

(16:05)- You might have seen the news that a Prime Minister was fined Rs13,000 because he went into public space without wearing a mask. India needs to follow the same suit where no one is above rules. During lockdown, India prioritized on health and wellbeing of everyone including the poor. Social organization and the government tried their best to help the poor during the lockdown.
(16:04)- During the lockdown, everyone obeyed rules with utmost sincerity. Now, institutions need to develop such sincerity once again. We have to make sure rules are followed everywhere and especially in containment zones.
(16:03)- It is true India is in a way better shape than many other nations regarding Coronavirus mortality rate. Timely lockdown and other measures have saved thousands of lives. But, we can also see that after Unlock 1, some people have become negligent.

In his 17 minute address to the nation, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the extension of government’s social security scheme for the poor. The speech could be seen as a way to cheer the country as festival season arrives in the country. Defying predictions of a statement on India-China situation, the Prime Minister left the situation out for the Army and ministers to address.
