India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8:00 pm (IST) on Tuesday, March 2020. He is expected to announce a range of measures to tackle Coronavirus outbreak in India. Many reports suggesting the possible implementation of Article 360 by the PM were earlier diminished by country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

(20:25)- Central government has set aside a budget of INR 15,000 crore for a Coronavirus fund. Medical equipments, testing facilities, and other frontline services will be given priority in this.

(20:24)- Government and civil society are coming forward to help the poor in these testing times. To fight this pandemic, central government is working to prepare health system of the country.

(20:23)- Think about hospital workers and policemen who are working without thinking about their lives, their family, and everything. States and central government are working simultaneously to contain outbreak in India.

(20:22)- Think of workers who are serving others in these testing times. Please pray for those who are working to sanitize your neighborhood.

(20:21)- Pray for people who are putting their lives at risk for protecting the country and citizens.

(20:20)- We have to follow our resolve while country is in lockdown.

(20:19)- We have to stop the spread of this pandemic in India. Everyone is looking at India. It is time to strengthen our resolve and act for the country.

(20:18)- Citizens from such countries did not come out for days, following their government’s directive. Social distancing is essential for everyone from Prime Minister to a local citizen in a village.

(20:17)- Ray of hope comes from countries which have been successful in containing Coronavirus outbreak.

(20:15)- Remember, Italy or USA, their medical services are among the best in world but they could not mitigate the Coronavirus from their citizens.

(20:14)- Carriers unknowingly spread the virus to many people. Statistics from the World Health Organization are very important. It took 67 days for Coronavirus infection to reach 1 lakh people. Then only in 11 days the next 1 lakh people got infected. What is frightening, the next 1 lakh toll was covered by the virus in only 4 days.

(20:13)- Some people at home are sharing information on Coronavirus very creatively.

(20:12)- Who you meet daily could be carriers of Coronavirus.

(20:11)- This lockdown has drawn a ‘LAXMAN REKHA’ on your doors, and a single foot outside that line could bring Coronavirus into your home.

(20:10)- If we are not able to contain the outbreak in these 21 days then many families will be destroyed. Therefore for a few days, forget about venturing out.

(20:09)- Please stay where you are right now. Given today’s situation, country wide lockdown will be of 21 days (3 weeks).

(20:08)- There will be economic repercussions of lockdown but the government about safety of its citizens, districts, states, UTs and the country.

(20:07)- There will be a total ban on coming out from homes. It a type of curfew. Steps ahead from ‘Janata Curfew’, more strict than ‘Janata Curfew’.

(20:06) From midnight today, the entire country will go on a complete lockdown.

(20:05)- Social distancing is essential even for the Prime Minister. For past two days, many parts of country have initiated lockdown. Everyone should take these measures seriously.

Modi in his earlier address to the nation on Thursday, 19 March 2020 announced implementation of ‘Janata Curfew’. The measure got support of the whole nation and was termed as a successful initiative by state media.

Prime Minister Modi’s 28-minute address seems to come out very clear with a 21-day lockdown. India is now going to enter into a period where the world will assess its performance. The lockdown will be in effect from midnight 24 March 2020 and the hashtag of the situation is already trending on social media. #StayAtHome Keep yourself healthy.
