BRIT Awards 2021: Everything you want to know about the star-studded ceremony

The much-anticipated 2021 BRIT Awards took place in person to celebrate the past 12-months of music at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday evening. The star-studded evening wrapped up with a ceremony hosted by Comedian Jack Whitehall in front of 4,000 celebrities, key workers, and main employees.

The evening honoured the best of British and international talent from the previous year and witnessed a variety of unforgettable performances. Some stars performed live from The O2 Arena, while others performed remotely due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. However, the award show had broadcast exclusively on ITV, ITV Hub, and YouTube worldwide!

Here are the highlights of the mesmerising evening of BRIT Awards

Coldplay performed their latest single ‘Higher Power’ from a pontoon on the River Thames to kick start the ceremony.

Dua Lipa was the first performer within The O2, performing a medley of her hits including ‘Again’, ‘Physical’, ‘Pretty Please’, and ‘Hallucinate’.

Olivia Rodrigo, a rising star from the United States, the third performer of the evening, gave her first appearance on British soil, singing ‘Drivers License’.

Arlo Parks, a first-time BRITs candidate, gave a beautiful performance of ‘Hope,’ which was followed by an epic collaboration between icon Sir Elton John and Years & Years on ‘It’s A Sin’.

International sensation The Weekend performed his breath-taking hit ‘Save Your Tears’ live from across the Atlantic.

While 2021 Rising Star winner Griff gave a mesmerising performance of her pop anthem ‘Black Hole’ during the evening.

With fellow nominees AJ Tracey and Young T & Bugsey, Headie One lit up the stage with a double-drill mashup of ‘Princess Cuts’ and ‘Ain’t It Different’.

As the night’s finale, P!nk (remotely) and Rag’N’Bone Man closed out the incredible night with their strong ballad ‘Anywhere Away From Here’, which they performed with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir.

Big Winners at the evening of BRIT Awards

Dua Lipa was the night’s biggest winner! She took home two trophies, one for ‘British Female’ and another for the night’s most coveted award, ‘Mastercard British Album of the Year’, for her No. 1 album ‘Future Nostalgia’.

Taylor Swift was among the major winners of the evening as she became the first female artist to earn a Global Icon Award.

In addition, Harry Styles of former title One Direction won Single of the Year for his song ‘Watermelon Sugar’.

Celebrities who stole the show with their LOOKS at BRIT Awards

Dua Lipa was a sole show stealer and certainly was one of the most stylish stars on the 2021 BRIT Awards red carpet. The English singer was seen wearing a golden-yellow Vivienne Westwood minidress and stunned everyone with her towering beehive reminiscent of Amy Winehouse’s classic hairdo.

Not only Dua Lipa, but Griff also dazzled in her lilac makeup and a crystal-encrusted headpiece.

Billy Porter wore an all-black outfit for the occasion, complete with jet-black lipstick and smoky eyes while making sure to adorn the inner corners of his eyes with a teeny-tiny crystal.

Michelle Obama’s surprise Visit at BRIT Awards

Former First Lady of United States, Michelle Obama made an unexpected appearance at the BRIT Awards 2021 to honour the music sensation ‘The Weeknd’.
