UAE imposes AED50,000 fine on employers hiring expats without job licence

UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced AED50,000 fine on employers for recruiting an expatriate without obtaining a job licence. The fines and regulation are as per the law on labour relations (Article 181). A week before UAE offered citizenship to a selected group of foreigners, the first Gulf Arab nation to formalise a process, aimed at giving expatriates a bigger stake in the economy.
