Mount Everest authorities at the base camp reported a rising number of climbers testing positive for Covid-19 that raises fears of an outbreak. Officials confirmed the report of receiving 17 confirmed cases from the Everest base camp admitted at hospitals in Kathmandu. The Nepal government, however, has denied any such update that raises concern over growing pressure on the officials to close the mountain to expeditions.
