Group of scientists discover 'new bat' in West Africa

Scientists from American Museum of Natural History and Bat Conservation International identified a new species of striking orange and black bat in West Africa. Researchers expect it likely endangered and highlight the importance of sub-Saharan "sky islands" to bat diversity. The new species described as Myotis nimbaensis ("from Nimba"), recognition of mountain range in which it is found.
