Australia: Man critical after rare shark attack in Perth river

A shark bit a man swimming in Perth’s Swan River, the first such attack in the water body since 1969. It was likely to be a 2-3 metre bull shark, and the man was swimming off Perth’s Blackwall Reach reserve when he was bit on the upper leg. The last shark-related fatality was in 1923.
