New York City apartment fire kills 19, including 9 children

At least 19 people have died in a major fire in a high-rise apartment building in the Bronx in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams informed. Dozens of people are seriously injured and receiving treatment in the hospital. Daniel Nigro, the commissioner of the New York City Fire Department, said that a "malfunctioning electric space heater" was the source of the fire.
