India to ban another 54 Chinese apps over security threat

India is set to ban 54 Chinese applications that pose a threat to its security. The 54 Chinese apps include Beauty Camera, Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera – Selfie Camera, Equalizer & Bass Booster, and others. The Ministry of Electronics and IT exercised its emergency powers under Section 69 of the IT Act to ban these apps, which reportedly belonged to Chinese tech firms such as Tencent and Alibaba.
