UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced to honour coders and programmers on 29 October. The day was chosen as it marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first electronic government in the region by Sheikh Mohammed on 29 October 2001. 'UAE Codes' is the slogan chosen for the commemoration.
