Up to 5 years imprisonment, USD27,000 fine for flying drones in UAE

Those who violate the ban on flying drones in the UAE can face up to five years in prison and a minimum fine of AED100,000 (~USD27,000), the UAE Public Prosecution said. Both or either of the two penalties may apply, the authority stated. Earlier, on January 22, the Ministry of Interior suspended the flying of drones and light-sports aircraft in the UAE.
