Lionel Messi’s played his 900th match as Sevilla defeated Barcelona 2-0 in the opening leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash. Sevilla's Jules Kounde gave a brilliant performance while a second-half goal from Ivan Rakitic helped the team register a win over FC Barcelona. Sevilla took the field without injured players Lucas Ocampos and Jesús Navas.
