Dubai: Party revelers face hefty fines for violating COVID-19 norms

Dubai Police raided a private party that was violating COVID-19 safety rules, fining organisers and participants AED50,000 and AED15,000 each. In a video posted on Twitter, the revelers can be seen without masks and ignoring social distancing norms. On Monday, a desert resort was shut down for violating precautionary measures even as authorities blame social gatherings for the recent surge in infections.
