Sensex plunges below 60,000 on weekend

BSE Sensex plunged below the 60,000 mark to reach 59,984.70 levels. Nifty 50, on the other hand, was down 353.70 points or 1.94% at 17,857.30 on the last day of trading this week. Adani Ports, ITC, ONGC, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the major Nifty losers, while gainers included IndusInd Bank, L&T, UltraTech Cement, Asian Paints and Shree Cements.
