Rupee rebounds on signs of COVID-19 recovery

Indian rupee surged by 1.7% against the dollar, aiding the economy in becoming Asia's top-performer during May. The currency came out on top among all of its regional peers as India witnessed a decline in its daily COVID-19 tally. India reported over 200K daily cases of COVID-19 for 40 straight days as a second wave of the infection hit the South Asian country.
