India seeks to block most cryptocurrencies in new Bill

India government is planning to table a bill in the winter parliament session intended at banning all private cryptocurrencies in the country. It, however, is expected to exempt some of the cryptocurrencies to promote the technology and its uses. The Centre said it aims "to create a facilitative framework for the creation of the official digital currency to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India".
